DAY 01 – ARRIVAL AND FREE DAY
Our transfer will meet you at the airport parking lot with a sign featuring the INFOCUSCO logo and your name. Depending on your flight time, we will take you to your hotel in Cusco, where you will receive information about your itinerary, useful recommendations, and settle any pending balance in cash, if necessary.
Once settled in, you can enjoy a coca tea, rest, or have lunch on your own. If you have time in the morning, you can visit attractions like Casa Concha, Santa Catalina Monastery, San Pedro Market, the Stone of 12 Angles, or explore the traditional neighborhoods of San Blas and San Cristóbal. In the evening, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., you can attend a traditional dance show from Cusco. Finally, enjoy a free night to explore the city at your own pace. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 02 – CITY TOUR
In the morning, between 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the tour. Depending on the location of your accommodation, the initial transfer will either be by foot or tourist mobility.
Our first stop will be the Qoricancha Temple, the former Inca religious center, where we will take a guided tour of about one hour. Then, we will travel by transport to visit the main archaeological sites surrounding the city: Sacsayhuamán, the imposing stone fortress; Q’enqo, a ceremonial center; Puka Pukara, an ancient control post; and Tambomachay, with its ritual water fountains.
We will finish the tour and return to Cusco between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., dropping you off near the historic center. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 03 – MARAS, MORAY, SALINERAS & TEXTILES
Between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to start our journey.
Our first stop will be Chinchero, a picturesque Andean village where we will witness a demonstration of the traditional textile-making process, an ancestral tradition that continues to this day. Then, we will head to Moray, an astonishing Inca agricultural laboratory with circular terraces where different microclimates were experimented with for optimizing crops. The temperature difference between the top and bottom of the terraces can reach up to 15°C, making it an important historical and scientific site.
After exploring Moray, we will continue to the Salineras de Maras, an impressive complex of over 3,000 salt ponds that have been in use since pre-Inca times. You will witness the natural salt extraction process and enjoy breathtaking views of the Andean landscapes.
We will conclude the tour and return to Cusco between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., leaving you near the main square for further exploration or relaxation. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 04 – HUMANTAY LAGOON
Our adventure begins with a 4:30 a.m. pick-up from your hotel in our tourist van. From Cusco, we will travel northeast, crossing picturesque villages like Limatambo and Mollepata. In Mollepata, we will stop for a delicious breakfast with panoramic views of the valley.
We will continue by vehicle to Soraypampa, the starting point for our hike. Our guide will provide instructions about the route, altitude, and tips to ensure your best performance during the walk. The 1.5-hour ascent will lead us to the stunning Humantay Lagoon, surrounded by the majestic Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped mountains.
Once at the lagoon, we will have time to rest, take photos, and admire the stunning landscape. Afterward, we will descend back to Soraypampa and head to Mollepata for a satisfying lunch before returning to Cusco. We will arrive in the city between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 05 – SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES
In the morning, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our Sacred Valley adventure. Our first stop will be Pisac, a remarkable archaeological complex located 50 minutes from Cusco. After exploring the terraces and Inca constructions, we will continue to Urubamba for a buffet lunch.
Then, we will head to Ollantaytambo, where we will visit its impressive archaeological site. The climb will be a small challenge, but the panoramic views of the town and river, along with the stunning Inca architecture, will make the effort worthwhile.
After the visit, you will stay in Ollantaytambo and head to the train station for your train to Aguas Calientes, scheduled to depart around 4:36 p.m., arriving at 6:09 p.m.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the hotel transfer will guide you to your accommodation, and later, the guide will contact you to finalize the details for your visit to Machu Picchu the next day. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 06 – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
As coordinated with your guide, you will head to the bus station to board the transport that will take you up for 30 minutes along a winding road to the majestic “Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu,” also known as the “Lost City of the Incas.”
Upon arrival, we will present the entry tickets and begin the guided tour of the citadel, lasting approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the chosen circuit. After the tour, you will have free time to take photos or optionally request a video report.
Afterward, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time for lunch before boarding the return train at 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will take the connecting bus to Cusco. We will arrive in Cusco around 8:20 p.m., where we will transfer you to your hotel.
IMPORTANT: Train schedules may vary depending on availability at the time of confirmation.
DAY 07 – SOUTH VALLEY: TIPÓN, PIKILLAQTA, ANDAHUAYLILLAS
We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:45 a.m. and head south of Cusco. After a 45-minute drive, we will reach Andahuaylillas, where we will visit its famous church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” for its impressive baroque art.
Next, we will head to Tipón, an Inca site with impressive agricultural terraces and an advanced system of channels and aqueducts still in use. We will then proceed to Pikillaqta, a pre-Inca Wari city, and visit Rumicolca, an ancient Inca control post.
Before returning, we will make a brief stop at the Huacarpay Lagoon viewpoint, a beautiful wetland surrounded by mountains. Optionally, we can stop in Saylla for its famous chicharrones.
We will return to Cusco between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., dropping you off near the Plaza de Armas. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 08 – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
Between 4:00 a.m. and 4:40 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel and begin the 2-hour journey south. Upon arrival, we will enjoy breakfast before continuing to the Llaqto community parking lot, where the hike to Rainbow Mountain begins.
After a brief introduction from the guide, we will begin the 1.5-hour hike to Vinicunca (5,036 meters above sea level), passing through ravines, llama herds, and the majestic snow-capped peaks of Ausangate and Wiñayrity.
Upon reaching the summit (10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.), the guide will explain the geography, ecosystem, and the colors of the mountain. You will have time to take photos and admire the breathtaking views.
Afterward, we will descend back to the parking lot and head to a restaurant for lunch before returning to Cusco, arriving between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 09 – AIRPORT TRANSFER
Depending on your flight time and prior coordination, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport. We remind you that, according to airline guidelines, passengers should arrive at least 2 hours before boarding.
